It has always been our priority to focus on the quality of our final product: the day-old chick. We perfectly know that all steps in the process must be taken as good and efficient as possible in order to supply a perfect final product. To obtain strong and healthy chicks we take care of our dams with the greatest attention possible. Because first there was the chicken, and then the egg. To guarantee a perfect quality, we have our own dam farms.
Our animals are taken care of by a single propagator who is passionate and experienced. This has a positive effect on the chickens’ well-being. This person gets assistance from a vet, and a team of specialists and technicians: all of them perfectly know how to adapt the circumstances to the animals’ needs.
Both the breeding of the dams as the reproduction is done under our full control.
We raise our own animals because that is the only way to control the full process, and to guarantee the best quality possible.
We carefully watch the weight of our roosters, which are given adjusted feed. This results in an excellent sperm quality which guarantees a perfect fertilisation.
The eggs are properly cleaned and decontaminated, and are then put in the incubator.
Our Petersime incubators are equipped with all things necessary to carefully watch the breeding process. The temperature and the humidity are accurately measured and controlled.
The eggs are scanned in order to eliminate the dead or unfertilised embryos.
The well-being of the hens is our priority. We dispose of advanced incubators that make sure all chicks come out at the same time.
Before the chicks leave our premises, our team subjects them to a final quality control.
Our hygiene standards are very high. The containers we use to transport our chicks, are always thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated.
During transport the chicks can eat moistened fibres. These have a positive effect on the chick’s gut development.
We ship the chicks in air-conditioned trucks so they arrive at our customers’ in a healthy and stress-free condition.
Koen Lafaut: “I safeguard the quality of our chicks by being in the hatchery every morning.”

Kevin Baeten: “It is my task to permanently monitor the breeding animals and dams.”
Bert Verstraete: “Our philosophy is that our premium quality hatching eggs are enjoyed by as many people as possible, throughout the world.”
